The legendary Yellow Rose of Texas is tied to Morgan's Point.

Since it was established in the mid-1800s, the area has transitioned from a small colony to a vacation spot for the wealthy to a cohesive bedroom community.

"It's a unique place with very active, civic-minded people," said longtime resident Dick Wright, noting that out of the 210 people registered to vote in the last city election, 170 participated.
