Murals { 6 images } Created 2 Sep 2016
Murals for public spaces. The design is specific to each client. Our designs can feature photos and artwork supplied by the client which includes digitally restoring historic photos. Designs also feature photography by Ruth Burke and graphic design borders, backgrounds and art with text. We consult with the client to insure that the mural tells a story or presents a brand or conveys a feeling to the viewer.
Local artists Ruth Burke and Lacie Saunders, also known as Ruth Burke Art, provide photography, design, and art services specializing in local and historical photo murals. Uniquely composed for large public spaces, substantial photo murals captivate the audience and provide a lasting record of historical importance. The artists focus on how the photo design tells a story, presents a brand, and/or conveys feeling to the viewers.
Photo murals act as wall coverings that incorporate placemaking design to create unique spaces which encourage conversation and provide a positive environment. A RUTH BURKE ART project will go beyond healing and take an active role in maintaining the community’s memories for better health and well-being.
The photo mural design and process includes the production and composition of original artwork elements, images obtained from RUTH BURKE ART’S stock library, high resolution scans of original images, and photo restoration. The design team assists in collecting images from the client's image library, through research, or from RUTH BURKE ART’S stock photo image library. Photo restoration and high resolution scanning is performed in house and is also included in the production process.
After the initial consultation, the contract for a Ruth Burke Art Mural begins with a project description that includes information about size, location and design. The contract’s second section explains the project approach which lists the chronological steps that lead up to installation. Included in the steps are draft layouts and small scale prints of the mural produced for client approval. The contract also outlines the project cost along with a payment schedule. Reproductions of work, revisions, and delivery of product are also all addressed in the contract.
